Parent Wonders is a program funded by Illinois State Board of Education through
the Regional Office of Education to serve parents with children birth through
age five in rural Champaign County school districts. It supports parents and
provides opportunities for parents and young children to learn and grow
together. Offerings include a variety of parent education programs, from play
groups, gym nights, 4-6 week parenting classes to special family activity
nights. Baby Club is a tailored program to help meet each baby's developmental
needs in a fun and unique way. At Lunch Bunch, we have lunch, an informal
discussion, and create something special while childcare is provided. Parent
Wonders also offers a Warm Line for parents of young children who would like to
talk about parenting issues and a parent library. A newsletter is published
quarterly during the year and mailed to parents with young children who live in
rural Champaign County. All programs are free. Free childcare is provided for
all classes. |
